Essential Functions and Job Summary
We are looking for a forward-thinking, strategic, experienced program management Real Estate Professional to come and join us. In this role, you will be responsible to deliver a project management structure across NBA real estate and facilities projects globally. Additionally, you will play a vital role in driving more efficient, effective, and innovative program outcomes across teams and processes with defined performance metrics.  This requires a strong understanding of real estate project delivery including workplace design and delivery practices with a high-touch partner and change management approach and perspective.
 

Major Responsibilities 

  • Expected to lead large projects, manage complex budgets ($MM), effectively manage schedules and collaborate with key partners. 

  • Responsible for managing a wide range of external team members through external suppliers across multiple disciplines inclusive of project manager, transaction manager, architect, general contractor, and all necessary supplier management to achieve defined performance metrics.

  • Can positively influence outcomes internally as well as with a vast network of external partners and stakeholders.

  • Lead the management of projects that range from new design and delivery for NBA Headquarters and Regional Offices to capital improvement projects that vary in size, scope, and complexity.

  • Drive more efficient/effective, innovation-focused outcomes, working smarter across project teams to understand day-to-day functions to drive value and increased success.

  • Plan, measure, and report program management real estate outcomes through data analytics to senior leadership.

  • Define clear project goals, objectives, and action plans.  Document project summaries and communicate routinely on status to leaders and stakeholder groups to remain aligned with overall project goals.

  • Validate project budgets with external estimation, negotiate fees for contracts, and manage cost tracking, schedules, and external services on time and within target.

  • Perform quality control and monitoring throughout project development to ensure NBA brand standards and compliance with local building codes and regulations are met. 

  • Communicate proactively and routinely with primary internal stakeholder partners including Finance, Legal, Security, Media Operations & Technology, IT, Human Resources, and the Executive Offices in both NY and NY office locations.

  • Assess short-term and long-term project and business risk/opportunities, participate in formal risk analysis activities, and support risk mitigation initiatives. 

  • Consistently show innovative ways to challenge the status quo, problem solve, leverage data to inform future planning scenarios, and formulate data analysis with storytelling for leadership review.

  • Assist or in certain instances, lead all sourcing, procurement, and contractual processes necessary to onboard the required resources and execute global projects successfully.

 

Required Education/Professional Experience

  • Bachelor’s degree in Architecture, Interior Design, Engineering, Construction Management, or related field 

  • 8+ years’ experience in Real Estate, supporting program management for workplace design and project delivery within fast-paced organization, preferably with international experience

  • Experience in coordination with media broadcasting and critical systems environments preferred


Required Skills/Knowledge Attributes

  • Excellent communicator with outstanding written and verbal people skills; the role requires stakeholder engagement across all levels, including senior leadership 

  • Fluent in English

  • Experience in coordination with all design disciplines, including Interior Architecture, MEP, AV, and IT 

  • Experience leading workplace strategic shifts and managing the change cycle

  • Expert experience with MS Word, Excel, and Outlook required

  • Tools such as CAD, HTML, or Tableau are
