Job description $500 SIGN-ON BONUS!! The Goddard School of Plainfield, a premier preschool in the western suburbs of Chicago, is seeking a dependable Kitchen Prep Cook. A prep cook at The Goddard School is responsible for establishing and maintaining a safe, healthy, and nurturing learning environment. Additionally, a cook is responsible for working together with the entire staff.  Overview: The Prep Cook at The Goddard School is responsible for any food service required to operate the school. The Cook must have good attention to detail and strong organizational skills.  Qualifications: The Cook must meet the following qualifications: 

• the ability to prepare and serve catered meals, in accordance with all applicable laws and regulations; 
• the ability to understand and comply with policies relating to foodservice and employment policies; 
• the ability to communicate effectively with school personnel, children, and parents; 
• the ability to handle crisis situations, including assisting in evacuating the building during emergencies; 

Responsibilities: The Cook is responsible for the following duties: 

• Ensuring the safe handling and preparation of all catered meals to children; 
• Complying with all applicable laws and regulations relating to food handling and food service sanitation; 
• Efficiently deliver meals to all classrooms at the scheduled time; 
• Ensure children with food restrictions are receiving correct substitutions; 
• Assist the Assistant Director with receiving food orders; 
• Maintain a clean and orderly kitchen; 
• Wash, sterilize, and put away dishes and utensils; 
• Maintain a professional, pleasant/friendly demeanor; 
• Excellent communication; 
• Highly dependable; 
• Ability to drive a small school bus;
