Role Summary

The Application Developer 2 will partner with internal client groups to analyze requirements, design, develop, test, and implement Google Workspace across the organization. This position will be responsible for supporting all aspects of a particular solution displaying leadership and enthusiasm to address problems and innovate solutions. All activities will be performed in support of the strategy, vision and values of JE Dunn.

  • Autonomy & Decision-Making:  Makes decisions on non-routine matters, provides recommendations to supervisor and refers all exceptions to supervisor.

Key Role Responsibilities - Core

APPLICATION DEVELOPMENT FAMILY - CORE

 

  • Has responsibility for troubleshooting and fixing application issues as the subject matter expert for Google Workspace solutions
  • Modifies existing applications and reports to correct issues or to adapt to new hardware/software versions
  • Consults with internal development team members to evaluate software interfaces, develop specifications, and gather performance requirements
  • Prepares and maintains project and system documentation
  • Provides updates to end users on project status, proposals and technical issues such as software system design and maintenance
  • Has responsibility for supporting existing business processes utilizing new and innovative applications of Google Workspace
  • Focuses primarily on the reasoning behind business processes and provides recommendations to improve those processes

In addition, this position will be responsible for the following:

  • Consults with internal employees to analyze the potential project business requirements and determines how best to meet those requirements utilizing Google Workspace  Will evaluate whether a technological solution is appropriate
  • Designs, develops, tests, and implements new applications and reports that meet the needs of the business and help resolve business problems
  • Consults with individual client groups building business requirements for assigned projects with more focus on internal employees and business processes
  • Contributes towards improving code health, data hygiene and overall system reliability
  • Advises on information retrieval, distributed computing, large-scale system design, networking and data storage
  • Develops and contributes to documentation and content related to Google Workspace, adapting content based on product/program updates and user feedback
  • Recommends integration strategies and infrastructure to successfully implement Google Cloud solutionsImplements Big Query and Looker applications and advises cross-functional teams on their use

Knowledge, Skills & Abilities

  • Proficiency in Google Workspace (formerly G Suite) including Gmail, Google Drive, Google Docs, Google Sheets, Google Slides, Google Meet, and Google Calendar.
  • Strong understanding and hands-on experience with the Google Cloud Platform (GCP) including services such as Compute Engine, Cloud Storage, BigQuery, Cloud Functions, Kubernetes Engine, and Cloud SQL
  • Ability to perform work accurately and completely, and in a timely manner
  • Communication skills, verbal and written
  • Proficiency in MS Office - Intermediate
  • Ability to quickly and effectively solve complex problems
  • Ability to build relationships with team members that transcend a project
  • Proficiency with front-end frameworks or full-stack development - Intermediate
  • Ability to build relationships and collaborate within a team, internally and externally

Education

  • Bachelor’s degree in computer science or related field (Required)
  • In lieu of the above requirements, equivalent relevant experience will be considered.

Experience

  • 3+ years application development experience (Required) with a prefere
