Senior Real Estate Analyst

We are seeking a Senior RE Analyst to join our Los Angeles-based client. In this role, you will support the financial oversight and long-term performance optimization of a diversified portfolio of real estate assets. The successful candidate will play a critical part in portfolio analytics, underwriting, investor reporting, and capital planning initiatives.

Responsibilities:
- Lead property and portfolio-level financial performance analysis, identifying trends, risks, and value-enhancement opportunities
- Perform complex financial modeling, DSCR variance reporting, and portfolio forecasting
- Lead underwriting and financial due diligence for acquisitions, dispositions, LP exits, and resyndications
- Develop and present sensitivity analyses, valuation models, and investment memoranda
- Prepare, review, and present annual operating budgets and reforecasts
- Monitor monthly, quarterly, and annual financial reporting, conducting detailed variance and cash flow analysis
- Provide oversight of third-party property management financial reporting to ensure accuracy and lender/regulatory compliance
- Review audits, tax returns, and financial statements; prepare executive-level summaries highlighting key financial insights
- Oversee residual receipts calculations, distribution waterfalls, and fee collection processes
- Coordinate property inspections and contribute to capital needs assessments and long-term capital planning strategies
- Analyze occupancy, rent collection, and bad debt trends to identify operational and portfolio risk
- Interpret and summarize key provisions within LPAs, regulatory agreements, loan/bond documents, and HAP contracts to support executive and board-level decision-making
- Serve as a primary point of contact for investors, lenders, and auditors regarding portfolio performance and compliance
- May supervise and mentor one or more financial analysts
Minimum Qualifications:
- Bachelor’s degree
- 5 years of financial analysis experience; 1 year in a senior capacity
- Proficient in MS Excel (advanced) and Power BI, Python, and SQL
Preferred Qualifications:
- Bachelor’s degree in finance, Real Estate, Business, or related field
- Prior affordable housing or real estate experience
- Experience with LIHTC, Section 8, HOME, and affordable housing regulatory compliance
- Experience reviewing partnership and loan documentation
- Strong understanding of accounting principles, budgeting, and forecasting
- Strong written and verbal communication skills, including executive-level presentation ability
- Ability to manage multiple projects and deadlines in a fast-paced environment
