Part-Time Store Clerk (West Hershey)

Location: Hershey, PA

Hourly Pay Rate: $14.00 or more based on experience

Minimum Age: 18 years of age or older

Availability: Monday - Friday (No weekends or Holidays)

 

This position is in the employee store at the West Hershey plant. The store is open Monday through Friday; hours vary by day. This position services the needs of all West Hershey plant employees, retirees and many business guests visiting the plant each day.

 

Employee store clerks are approachable, seek to understand our customers’ needs and provide exceptional customer service. Basic duties include stocking shelves and candy dishes, welcoming and greeting customers, answering questions, answering the phone, pricing, and displaying merchandise, checking product freshness codes, restocking, and operating a point-of-sale register. The required skills will be learned primarily through on-the-job training.

 

This is a part-time position located in Hershey, Pennsylvania. The company will not provide relocation assistance or other employment benefits for this position.

 

Employee Store Operating Hours

West Hershey: Monday & Tuesday– 11:00am- 6:00pm, Wednesday, Thursday & Friday- 6:00 am- 1:00pm.

 

Major Duties/ Responsibilities:

 

· Must demonstrate strong Customer Service skills

· Must open the store on time and keep the store looking neat.

· Must be willing to work as a team

· Assist customers with the purchase of gifts, candy, and souvenirs

· Restock shelves and maintain a clean work area

· Operate a cash register and give accurate change

· Perform the end of day Cash drawer closing

· Must be willing to learn

 

Minimum knowledge, skills, and abilities required to successfully perform major duties/responsibilities:

 

· Must maintain a neat appearance

· Customer Service Skills

· Ability to work independently in a fast-paced environment

· Problem-solving skills

· Leadership/ability to take initiative

· General retail knowledge a plus

· Must be able to walk or stand for 5-8 hours

· Must be able to push, pull, lift, carry 40-50 lbs. and may require overhead lifting

· Requires bending, stooping and twisting

· Must be able to communicate effectively with customers, fellow coworkers and function effectively as part of a team

· Must be able to work at a fast pace and remain calm.

· Must have basic math skills

· Must be able to operate a cash register and give accurate change

 

Minimum Education and Experience Requirements:

 

Education: High School diploma or GED equivalent is preferred but not required

Experience: Retail Sales work experience preferred, but not required
