Job Description
The Market Segment Manager role will support the Throughput Segment Metal-Core product line. The position is ideally based in Troy, Ohio, and will report to the Throughput Matters Director.
The Market Segment Manager will drive the development of new products by understanding market trends, conducting market research, and will assist in developing solutions that solve customer pain points.
Essential Functions:
- Develop and execute the overall vision and strategy for Metal-Core new product development.
- Develop a deep understanding of the end-users business and their underserved jobs.
- Direct and perform market research, collect, and synthesize customer insights (VOC) and competitive intelligence.
- Lead/guide NPD projects from Discover through Develop stages.
- In conjunction with product management and marketing teams, develop GTM approach and messaging emphasizing solution monetization.
- Successfully transition new products/Innovations to the product management team before release.
- Strong collaboration with Hobart Operations and Quality teams to understand the manufacturability and sustainability of innovative technology.
- Balance innovation with opportunities for product line simplification.
- Collaborate with other ITW Welding divisions to drive tighter alignment around system solutions.
- Develop and promote a culture that encourages integrity, respect, trust, shared risk, and simplicity.

Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree in business, marketing, or a comparable discipline; an MBA is a plus.
- Bachelor’s Degree in technical/engineering with strong business acumen may be considered.
- At least 3-5 years of experience in a product-based, business-to-business environment.
- Experience and knowledge in marketing and sales, along with strong skills in business acumen and project management.
- Technical aptitude & mechanically inclined; understanding of welding process preferred.
- Able to influence without authority and build relationships in a multifaceted cross-functional, collaborative work environment.
- Organized and motivated with a drive to continually learn and develop.
- Expected travel is 30%.
