POSITION INFORMATION
Title: Associate Director of Alumni Engagement – Strategic Programs, Communication & Marketing
Department: Alumni Relations
FLSA Status: Full‐time, Exempt
Starting Annual Salary: $65,000.00 commensurate with experience
POSITION SUMMARY
The Associate Director of Alumni Engagement is responsible for the strategic design, management and evaluation of alumni engagement programs and activities for the UH Foundation Office of Alumni Relations (UHFAR).The Associate Director works closely with all members of the Alumni Relations team to conceptualize, develop and implement programs and events that support UHFAR’s alumni engagement goals, align with the University’s strategic priorities and increase philanthropic and activity-based support for the university. In addition to managing conceptual pre-planning and strategic design for all programs and events, the Associate Director will also play a vital role in the development and implementation of communications and marketing tactics as well as post-activity reporting and analysis.

ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS
- Conceptualize and develop strategic framework for alumni engagement programs and activities. Prepare comprehensive plans for each program/activity outlining goals, objectives and metrics for post-activity reporting and analysis. Oversee the implementation of strategic framework and conduct regular assessments of program/activity outcomes, needs and opportunities.
- Develop and implement communication and marketing tactics that align with overarching alumni engagement goals. Manage the creation and distribution of program/activity communication and marketing materials including digital and/or print invitations, announcements, forms, etc.
- Develop and implement a UH Alumni content strategy that aligns with overarching alumni engagement goals, supports marketing and communication efforts and generates valuable data on potential areas of interest for philanthropic activity. Content Strategy will include (but is not limited to) UH Alumni website and social media channels.
- Develop annual impact reports that communicate the history and value of UHFAR alumni engagement activities and illustrate the reach of alumni engagement efforts.
- Build and maintain positive working relationships with UHF and University partners.
- May perform other duties as assigned.
EVALUATION
The Associate Director will meet annually with his/her supervisor to put in place a plan for the year. At the end of each year, the Associate Director and his/her supervisor will review progress toward the annual goals.
QUALIFICATIONS
The ideal candidate will possess the following qualifications:
• Bachelor's degree
• Minimum of five years of combined experience in alumni relations, communications and marketing or related fields
• Graphic design experience is preferable. Knowledge of InDesign and the use of email applications such as MailChimp is also desirable.
• Professional, self‐starter and team player who takes initiative.
• Excellent organizational and interpersonal skills are necessary.
• Excellent oral and written communications skills
• Ability to prioritize, multi‐task, and follow‐through.
• Skill in recruiting, training, and effectively managing and directing staff and volunteers.
• Proficiency in Microsoft Office: Outlook, Word, Excel; PowerPoint; social media and internet/web-based applications
• A willingness and ability to travel in and out of state is required.
• Sensitivity to confidential information
• Able to lift up to 40 lbs.
