Patient Access Supervisor

Promptcare is seeking a dedicated and detail-oriented Patient Access Supervisor to lead our team. This role involves overseeing the Patient Access staff, ensuring timely patient re-authorizations, and maintaining compliance with documentation standards. The Supervisor will ensure that the staff’s key job functions, which include the creation, submission, follow up and logging of recertification CMN’s to physician offices as well as authorization requests to assigned payers are performed timely and compliantly. Reports to: Vice President of Revenue Cycle Management

Job Type: Full-time, Exempt 

Requirements

• Bachelor’s degree preferred or comparable equivalent and related experience
• Previous experience in DME is required
• Medical Reimbursement knowledge is required
• Prior experience managing or overseeing staff is required
• Appropriate computer skills for the position (Microsoft Office Suite) and areas of influence, Brightree experience is required
• Strong work ethics and the desire to lead by example, with attention to detail and quality, is required
• Ability to deal directly with staff on policy or performance related issues
• Excellent oral and written communication skills are required to communicate with colleagues, management, customers, and insurance plan representatives

Job Responsibilities, included but not limited to:

• Ensure departmental goals are met by ensuring assigned work is done efficiently and timely
• Identify deficiencies and work to improve them through collaboration within the team and with other departments
• Prepare reports and do analysis to ensure proper workload distribution
• Escalate issues, communicate changes in payer rules that affect reimbursement or require changes in current processes
• Be an active participant in the education and development of all staff
• Supervise assigned staff by providing timely and regular feedback on processes, compliance, performance, and attendance
• Understand payer requirements to ensure authorization approval is granted
• Assist the team with day-to-day issues and problems, escalating in a timely manner as necessary to ensure resolution
• Communicate effectively with patients, insurance plans, physician offices, respiratory therapists, and other personnel
• Other duties as assigned

The role necessitates the ability to lift files, open filing cabinets, and bend or stand as needed. Additionally, the position occasionally requires lifting office products and supplies weighing between 20 and 30 pounds.
