The Opportunity

Our location in Columbus OH, currently has an opportunity for an International Logistics Analyst.

The Transportation Analyst (TA) is responsible for assuring that Columbus customer service and transportation management objectives are met. This includes serving as the primary supply chain liaison with customers to ensure on time delivery of product and to ensure the highest quality of transportation service through the selection and development of global partnerships with carriers selected on a basis of mutual commitment to meet Abbott’s standards of service, safety, and compliance with regulations and continuous quality improvement. The TA position is responsible for ensuring timely delivery of product and documentation required to meet the import regulations of Abbott affiliates and direct customers. The TA is responsible for leading efforts to proactively address supply and demand issues and driving initiatives to improve the efficiencies of the supply chain in support of maximizing Abbott’s sales. The TA has responsibility for establishing and maintaining effective relationships with our transportation providers and for analyzing global transportation routings to ensure optimal results are realized.

WHAT YOU’LL DO

Main Responsibilities

  • Allocation of product to ensure maximum container utilization and minimize transportation costs. Coordination of shipments with source warehouses and transportation providers.
  • Customer service: · Manage the shipment of product from manufacturing and distribution locations in the Americas to Abbott affiliates and direct Abbott customers worldwide.

  • Ensure prompt, accurate and efficient handling of communications concerning shipments and any other relevant aspect of the business.
  • Monitor key performance indicators for responsible area, perform root cause analysis, and develop and implement corrective action plans to improve levels of performance.
  • Identify and implement continuous improvement initiatives
