Description
The University of Chicago’s Department of Medicine, Section of Cardiology, is searching for a full-time Associate Professor or Professor to serve as the Director of the Adult Cardiac Magnetic Resonance/Computed Tomography (CMR/CCT) programs. The appointee will join and lead an established group of nationally and internationally renowned physicians, researchers and educators in the field of cardiac CMR/CCT imaging. In conjunction with the Section of Cardiology, other leaders in the Multimodality Cardiac Imaging Laboratory, and the Heart and Vascular Center, the Director is expected to implement a plan that will expand clinical and translational research, develop strategies for increasing study volumes, and oversee the expansion of advanced cardiac imaging to multiple satellite cardiac imaging sites.
Clinical responsibilities will include interpretation of CMR/CCT studies, inpatient and ambulatory cardiology clinical services, and supervision of satellite cardiac imaging laboratories. Other duties will include teaching and supervision of fellows, residents and students, as well as scholarly activities. Academic rank is dependent on qualifications. The Multimodality Cardiac Imaging Group at the University of Chicago has a long-standing tradition of excellence in a full range of research activities as well as diagnostic and therapeutic procedures.
Prior to the start of employment, qualified applicants must: 1) have a medical doctorate (MD) or equivalent degree, 2) hold or be eligible for medical licensure in the State of Illinois, and 3) be board certified in Cardiology.
We especially welcome applicants with board certification in MRI and CT. We also welcome applicants with leadership experience in managing complex clinical operations with a track record of clinical and research success in cardiac imaging. Additionally, we welcome applicants with experience and understanding of other cardiac imaging modalities, namely Cardiac Ultrasound and Nuclear Cardiology is preferable.
