Electronic Warfare division in Goleta, CA is seeking a Senior Principal Software Engineer [C++] to be an active participant on the software development team, working with cutting edge technologies in products that protect our warfighter.
What you will do:
- Participation on collaborative, cross-disciplined integrated product teams, often employing agile system and software development operations to plan, specify, design, test, and integrate complex software and systems solutions.
- Applying and developing advanced methodologies, scientific principles, theories, and concepts related to EW algorithms and embedded processing for real time systems.
- The individual may also be called upon to provide flight test and field support, which offers the engineer unique insights into the importance our EW products have to the warfighter.
- Responsibilities include inventions and innovations of new products and technologies, from architecture and design, through integration, lab test, field test and system verification.
- Work as part of a multi-disciplined team where there are experienced engineers to provide mentoring and support.
- Use modular design approaches and/or agile software development techniques for a high quality, supportable software system.
- Maintain Secret Clearance. U.S. Citizenship status is required as this position will require the ability to access US only data systems.
- Work onsite at Goleta, CA [relocation eligible]
- Travel and support off-site facilities as needed.

Qualifications you must have:
- Minimum of 10 years professional experience in software design, development, integration and testing utilizing C / C++ or similar.
- Experience with real-time embedded microprocessor system development, system on a chip software design, FPGAs, high-speed transceivers, signal analyses and signal generation.
- Experience with the application of embedded Linux, RTOS, or bare metal operation systems in real-time applications.
- Experience with software algorithm development
- Lab experience in testing of products using logic analyzers, high-speed oscilloscopes, signal generators, and system on a chip debugging tools
- Active and transferable U.S. government issued Secret security clearance is required prior to start date. U.S. citizenship is required, as only U.S. citizens are eligible for a security clearance.
- Typically requires a Bachelor’s in Science, Technology, Engineering, or Mathematics (STEM preferred).
Qualifications We Prefer:
- Experience with interfaces and bus standards such as: VME, PCI, PCIe, VPX, or Gb Ethernet
- Experience developing software products for Radar or Electronic Warfare domains.
- Digital/Analog signal processing design skills working with ADC’s and DAC’s Real-time high speed data analysis.
- Knowledge or experience designing with Xilinx or Intel FPGAs or similar products.
- Possess skills to handle fast pace and dynamic product development environment including engagement with systems and electrical engineers.
- Experience working closely and directly with the customer.
- Experience with machine learning.
- Advanced signal processing and simulation.
