The Operations Lead directs the logistics efforts of the distribution center and assists with loading and unloading product in the warehouse, and performing other material handling operations as needed.
Essential Functions

- Protects the accuracy, integrity, and salability of our client's inventory through the adherence to standard operating procedures and meeting physical inventory and/or cycle count accuracy expectations.
- Directs appropriate warehousing team and works with team members to meet customer demands and performance metrics.
- Runs all necessary reports to determine effective action to maximize building capacity.
- Completes all required documentation on inbound and outbound documents.
- Reads and understands general instructions and prepare written reports.
- Understands and uses company’s warehouse management system, and time keeping system.
- Handles all products according to customer and employer procedures.
- Communicates changes in extraordinary handling procedures to office personnel. Completes warehouse worksheet.
- Provides peer mediation and informal coaching to associates. Communicates and advises Supervisor of operational issues that may involve other departments.
- Understands company goals and works to create an environment for success.
- Model safety protocols and monitors to improve company safety, quality, and productivity procedures.
- Interacts with various levels of local management concerning daily activities.
- Complies with all other procedures outlined in the Operations & Procedure Manual.
- Communicates effectively with Transportation, Warehouse, Management, Co-workers, and Customers.
- Must be able to excel in a team-oriented environment and be comfortable leading teams and monitor performance to achieve safety, productivity and quality goals.
- Must be "hands on", able to handle multiple priorities, and meet deadlines.
- Other duties as assigned.
Minimum Qualifications

Education & Experience
- Associate degree or equivalent education/work experience preferred
- 3 – 5+ years of warehouse experience preferred
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office tools, AS400, data entry and previous experience with web-based applications preferred

Physical & Mental Requirements
While performing the duties of this job, the employee requires the ability to:
- Hear, read and comprehend, write, and communicate
- Continuously sit, type, and perform repetitive wrist motion
- Occasionally stand, walk, bend, squat/kneel, twist/turn or reach
- Focus (with or without corrective lenses) to see close and distant, along with depth perception capabilities
- Work with material handling equipment that must be operated according to specific operating procedures
- Spend 70 – 80% of time on warehouse floor in fast-paced environment
