The CS will ensure effective communication among DFFM; Arizona Department of Corrections, Rehabilitation, and Reentry (ADCRR) staff; and external partners. </span></p> <p><br/><em><span>This position may offer the ability to work remotely, within Arizona, based upon the department's business needs and continual meeting of expected performance measures.</span></em></p> <p><em><span>The State of Arizona strives for a work culture that affords employees flexibility, autonomy, and trust. All work, including remote work, shall be performed within Arizona.</span></em></p> <span>Job Duties:</span> <p><span>Essential Duties and Responsibilities include but are not limited to:<br/><br/>• Maintain a safe and equitable working environment, motivate staff, and contribute to the personal growth and professional development of squad leaders. <br/><br/>• Perform site visits to ADCRR facilities to oversee training of squad members. Maintain squad member personnel files<br/><br/>• Coordinate logistics, training, safety, and security. Develop and implement work and safety protocols, manage emergency preparedness and response, conduct safety audits. <br/><br/>• Supervise chainsaw operations that include felling trees and thinning brush. Supervise and train staff in the safe application of herbicide. <br/><br/>• Supervise forestry related work which may include carrying and using a 20 pound saw and other heavy hand tools; may carry a 40 pound backpack filled with gear and supplies; hiking in rough and steep terrain, and in inclement weather for an extended period of time; camping outdoors with few amenities. <br/><br/>• Ensure effective communication and implementation of the Incident Command System.<br/><br/>• Supervise the use, storage, and transport of heavy equipment and hazardous chemicals.
