About the role
WinnCompanies is looking for a Quality Assurance Technician to join our military housing team at Fort Drum, NY.
In this role, you will be responsible for verifying the quality of work completed internally and through subcontractors in the Service Department, Change of Occupancy (COM) department, and Capital Replacement projects. The ideal candidate will also establish and maintain relationships with the military partner inspectors to ensure that completed work complies with the established standards.
Please note that the pay range for this position is $24.61 to $28.00 per hour. Final salary will vary based on job responsibilities and scope, geographic location, candidate’s relevant experience, and other factors.

Responsibilities
- Inspect and verify subcontracted and in-house work for on-time completion and adherence to established quality standards including quality of repairs such as plumbing, electrical, appliance, carpentry, vinyl tile, flooring repairs and landscaping.
- Coordinate with subcontractors to inspect completed work.
- Fully understand the COM process and schedule.
- Proactively inspect homes at the completion of each trade to minimize deficiencies at final inspection.
- Coordinate with military partner inspectors to ensure that established standards are met.
- Understand the quality criteria for pass, pass with conditions and fail.
- Professionally negotiate with military partner inspectors to ensure consistent, compliant inspections as defined through life, health, safety and pass with condition criteria.
- Coordinate with department manager to schedule and execute deficiency corrections to ensure successful COM inspections minimizing impact to residents.
- Maintain a close and highly responsive relationship to the day-to-day activities of the technicians, subcontractors, and residential service coordinators.
- Coordinate with technicians and supervisors to ensure that identified deficiencies are corrected and reinspected in a timely manner to ensure compliance.
- Perform basic maintenance of property including, but are not limited to cleaning, painting, interior/exterior decorating and lawn / heating / air systems maintenance.
- Produce Quality Control Reports based on random sampling and inspection of services.
- Monitor WO After COM and other service reports for trends.
- Research customer complaints and surveys for resolution and trending.
- Assist with determination and assessment of resident-caused damages.
- Responsible for receiving purchase orders (POs) and close Work Orders (WOs).
Requirements
- High school diploma or GED equivalent.
- 3-5 years of relevant work experience.
- A current driver's license in good standing and ability to meet the driving records standards outlined in the Company Safe Vehicular Operations Policy.
- Demonstrated skills or experience in general maintenance or construction.
- Basic competency in carpentry, plumbing, electrical, HVAC or appliances
- Experience with mobile devices and computer systems such as Microsoft Office.
- Ability to manage multiple assignments and tasks and work under pressure.
- Ability to build and maintain relationships with multiple stakeholders.
- Strong communication and conflict resolution skills.
- Superb attention to detail.

Preferred Qualifications
- Carpentry, painting, plumbing, electrical, HVAC, or appliance certifications.
- Proficiency with property management software's such as Yardi.
