About the role
Nashville General Hospital is hiring a Pharmacist This position is primarily responsible for ensuring the proper processing of drug orders including review, preparation and dispensing according to accepted standards of practice. The pharmacist is responsible for providing quality, patient specific drug information and recommendations to health care workers and patients, and providing supervision for pharmacy technicians. As a Pharmacist, you will:
- Interprets the appropriateness of a medication order before preparing or permitting the distribution of the first dose
- Recognizes non-formulary drugs, interacting drugs or therapy intervention targeted drugs, and offers information on alternate choices to physicians, consistent with hospital formulary system.
- Ensures adequate supply of medications and supplies are available beyond the immediate shift.
- Verify all dosage calculations based on patient-specific parameters provided on the patient care plan.
- Consistently completes daily audits of narcotic sheets or ADM records and maintains perpetual inventory of narcotics per policy and procedure
- Graduate of an ACPE-accredited School of Pharmacy with a BS or PharmD required
