ABOUT THE ROLE:

Cloud Implementation Architect - US Space Force

The Oracle Government, Defense and Intelligence team is looking for the next generation of Cloud Implementation Architects to begin product adoption efforts for our customers across the Intelligence Community and the Department of Defense.  In this role, you will work directly with end customers as well as our product teams to architect and implement IaaS, PaaS, and SaaS solutions.  You will be responsible for taking the needs and requirements of a workload or environment and selecting and organizing the best services and solutions for the deployed state of the host environment. Can see across the different cloud domains and interconnect the policies and requirements into a complete solution. May also be responsible for defining cloud Infrastructure as Code strategies, additional components such as object storage, and data migration strategies.

Seeking a skilled Creator and curator of cloud IaaS/PaaS configurations to be hosted on Oracle’s cloud platform. Requires experience as an architect. Required skills include skilled JAVA, micro-services, Kubernetes, and cloud development and orchestration expertise. Individual should have proven ability to lead a team. 

Goals include understanding the tool set, utilizing the platform securely and efficiently, and maintaining stability. Focuses on taking advantage of the agility and scalability of a cloud platform to enhance the user experience.    Ability to Architect and configure multi-cloud, hybrid, and edge cloud solutions.        

     

Analyzes business needs to help ensure Oracle’s solution meets the customer’s objectives by combining industry best practices and product knowledge. Effectively applies Oracle’s methodologies and policies while adhering to contractual obligations, thereby minimizing Oracle’s risk and exposure. Exercises judgment and business acumen in selecting methods and techniques for effective project delivery on small to medium engagements. Provides direction and mentoring to project team. Effectively influences decisions at the management level of customer organizations. Ensures deliverables are acceptable and works closely with the customer to understand and manage project expectations. Supports business development efforts by pursuing new opportunities and extensions. Collaborates with the consulting sales team by providing domain credibility. Manages the scope of medium sized projects including the recovery of remedial projects.

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Experience as a contractor in the Intelligence Community or Department of Defense
  • Technical expertise and hands on experience as an architect and a software engineer with knowledge for applying these skills to cloud, data and analytics, cyber security, and customer mission challenges.
  • Experience or training with variety of Oracle technologies including the applicability and usage of these technologies by customers.  Cloud certifications are important.
  • Passion for technology, the curiosity and willingness to constantly learn new skills, work with new tools and discover new and innovative approaches to solving complex technical challenges.
  • Hands on experience as a software developer / engineer with languages such as Java/JEE, C++, XML, perl, PL SQL, Python.
  • Hands on experience implementing middleware technology such as WebLogic, Apache Tomcat on Linux and Windows.
  • Hands on experience in integrating and implementing Micro-services. Experience with containers and Kubernetes.
  • Experience in implementing systems in Oracle Cloud, AWS, Azure, or other Cloud environments.
  • The ability to articulate technical concepts to non-technical audiences and, vice versa, translate functional needs to technical solutions.
  • The ability to lead a team of developers.
