What You Will Do:
As part of Guidehouse’s Application Development & Management practice, Digital Solutions Managers are instrumental in facilitating and leading the delivery of digital projects and products for our commercial and public sector clients. They also advise our clients on project and product management to creating/implementing digital strategies to agile / scrum coaching. Managers will lead or participate in client engagements as part of the design, development, and implementation of digital and innovation strategies. Depending on the specific project and client need, Digital Solutions Managers may be asked to work in a diverse set of focus areas, including change management, process improvement, requirements management, and/or project or program management. They are also expected to provide strategic consultative support to client engagements, including business analysis, communication planning, stakeholder engagement, strategic planning, process improvement, and performance management to deliver top-notch products. This person will help build a collaborative and trusting environment where problems can be raised with a solutions-oriented focus. They will help lead and grow the Scaled Agile and Digital Transformation practice within Guidehouse, and therefore must have demonstrated professional maturity and an everlasting urge to learn and grow. Finally, the Digital Solutions Manager must have a strong ability in building relationships with clients and account teams, as you will be expected to grow accounts and help find new opportunities by responding to client inquiries (RFPs / RFQs / RFIs).

While we actively design, build, and implement innovative agile / digital solutions for clients, our core focus is that of providing value through our collective expertise and ability to communicate this value through core consulting skills. As consultants, we operate in a very matrixed organization and float across multiple industries and roles. Projects and their associated roles are temporary. And so, we do not hire for projects, but rather long-term potential for success / growth and culture fit.
Guidehouse is a relationship-based consultancy. Our consultants are expected to network and build strong relationships with current and future clients, as well as with internal colleagues and leaders. Our belief is that these relationships are best built in person. Therefore, we expect consultants to be onsite (Guidehouse or Client office) at least twice per week.
Candidates will be evaluated on their experience and ability to delivery on client projects and on core consulting skills, including:
Client Delivery
- Ability to identify and develop solutions to meet client needs
- Ability to build solid relationships and become a trusted advisor to clients
- Maintains awareness of client environment, culture, challenges, and areas for improvement
- Maintains external environmental awareness of legislation, regulations, and policies that may impact the client
- Demonstrates flexibility in prioritizing and completing tasks
Core Consulting Skills
- Experience participating and leading in business development opportunities and pursuits
- Ability to structure and develop quality client deliverables
- Demonstrate a depth of analysis and critical thinking
- Demonstrates ability to leverage and tailor various industry methodologies and frameworks to the needs of clients
- Leads teams and develops junior staff
Responsibilities
- Lead or Support Digital Solutions Workstreams (50%)
- Define, lead, and manage workstreams as part of a larger engagement
- Mentor and coach junior staff from both a project and Guidehouse perspective
- Identify opportunities for additional client value through process improvements, streamlining, and project management
- Identify opportunities for future account growth through gap analyses and client relationships
- Perform hands-on reviews to ensure quality client deliverables
- Work with client and internal Guidehouse teams to elicit and define clear solution requirements
- Coordinate with teams to develop work products from start to finish based on client requirements
- Assist in tracking project budgets, performance metrics, etc. to ensure efficient client delivery
- Support Client Engagement & Consulting Activities (30%)
- Provide consultative input and guidance by learning about client specific subject matter and applying it to work
