Our Platform and Systems Engineering Team is seeking an experienced Power Electronics Engineer to join our team in Boston, with a background in high power systems and related electronics systems, either integrated or targeted for electrical grid or for large equipment. You will fill a key role which straddles power electronics and power systems and join a driven team to evolve ideas into products.

The team works cross-functionally to advance applications in areas including biotech, renewable energy, autonomous systems, automotive, and many more types of intelligent edge systems.

  Desired Skills and Experience:

  • Power Systems design, applications engineering or related experience in power electronics design, troubleshooting, and/or productization.
  • Solid analog power electrical engineering fundamentals including system simulations down to component level.
  • Proficient with isolated and non-isolated power circuit topologies.
  • Organize and perform simulations and prototyping of power systems.
  • Strong engineering lab bench skills.
  • Familiarity with EMC / EMI compliance and standards.
  • BSEE with 10+ years or MSEE with 5+ years of relevant experience or equivalent combination.

Bonus Points for:

  • PE license.
  • Familiarity with grid or electrical markets, and experience working with low, medium or high voltage electrical grid systems.
  • Proficient with power engineering concepts like generators, load characteristics and high-power transmission lines and gear (switchgear, protectors, sensing IV).
  • Experience in specifying, designing and testing magnetic components such as power inductors and transformers.
  • Modern semiconductor technologies (wide bandgap technologies).
  • Designing for industrial power equipment such as motors / motor drivers.
  • High-frequency switch-mode power supply design and topologies.
  • Experience evaluating and managing outside contractors.
  • PCB design and component selection.
