Collins Aerospace in Richardson, Texas is looking to add an Engineering Technician. You will be a partner with engineering to provide expertise and innovative solutions that support the engineering process.  Technicians provide technical resources, knowledge, assistance, and support engineers with many of the “hands on” technical tasks associated with engineering.

This is an onsite position located in Richardson, Texas.

What You Will Do:

• Support software test development including programming in Java, C/C++, Python, C#, JavaScript, and HTML/CSS
• Develop and execute test procedures for software, firmware, and basic I/O systems
• Perform IOT programming and testing activities
• Troubleshoot software and hardware systems using electronic and network diagnostic tools
• Construct and configure test equipment and modules for system verification
• Apply knowledge of Collins’ Source Control Management tools: ALM, Git, SVN
• Design and deploy Microsoft 365 solutions including Power Apps, Power Automate, Microsoft Forms/Lists
• Conduct verification of signal and information integrity across various systems
• Analyze electronic networks and troubleshoot connectivity across Ethernet, fiber, and coax mediums
• Work with oscilloscopes, multimeters, and serial terminal tools such as PuTTY, Minicom, Tera Term
• Program/test embedded systems including ARM and MSP microcontrollers
• Support systems using communication classifications: MIL-STD-1553, RS-232/422/485, HTTP(S), TCP/UDP, FTP, SSH, DHCP, TTL, Discrete, Differential Pair

Qualifications You Must Have:

• Typically requires an AA/AS degree (or other 2-year post high school training) with a minimum of 6 years of relevant experience
• The ability to obtain and maintain a U.S. government issued security clearance is required
• U.S. citizenship is required, as only U.S. citizens are eligible for a security clearance

Skills You Must Have:

• Strong experience in test development and verification for software and electronic systems
• Proficiency with diagnostic and test tools used for embedded system development
• Hands-on experience with Microsoft 365 development tools and automation
• Familiarity with various communication protocols and standards (Ethernet, serial, MIL-STD)
• Working knowledge of operating systems and network troubleshooting
