About the role

Inside the Role

We are seeking a dynamic and results-driven Director of Connected Vehicle Solutions in our Fleet Services Group (FSG) within DTNA’s Aftermarket team. This team is responsible for the product management and customer success of DTNA’s connected solutions, as well as driving the strategic technical partnerships in the transportation eco-system. Through our Detroit Connect Platform, we provide key real-time insights that improve our customer’s uptime, safety and efficiency across all DTNA’s heavy-duty, medium-duty and vocational truck platforms. With our 3rd Party integrations, we provide fleet management solutions to our customers, powered by our connected truck platform.
This is a high-impact leadership role responsible for driving the voice of customer, product vision, strategic roadmap, and successful delivery of our connected products to our customers. As a key member of the Fleet Services Group Leadership team, this position collaborates closely with DTNA Engineering, Product Strategy, Aftermarket, GTM and Sales teams, as well as the DTNA and global CSG (Connectivity Services) teams.

What You Drive at DTNA:

Be the Voice of Customer for Connected Products

  • Actively engage with customers, dealers and DTNA sales and product strategy teams across the heavy duty, medium duty and vocational product segments
  • Develop and maintain a structured approach to documenting customer insights across all key customer personas across large, medium and small fleet accounts.
  • Develop and maintain industry and competitive analysis of the connected product, fleet management and transport solutions ecosystem.

Define the Connected Product Vision and Strategic Roadmap

  • Based on customer insights and competitive analysis, develop the vision and value proposition for each of the key connected products
  • Develop and continuously maintain the mid and long term connected product portfolio roadmap.

Drive the Development of Connected Products with the CSG and DTNA engineering teams

  • Lead the Connected Product Management function and define the product features and specifications of new connected products and features as per the CVDS and DSDP development process and gates.
  • Continuously collaborate with the global and local CSG Technical Product leadership to align the product roadmap and drive the successful development and delivery of new connected products and features.
  • Represent DTNA’s Connected Product portfolio at major DTNA vehicle project (PAR) product development reviews and decision forums.

Deliver Customer Success with Connected Products

  • Collaborate with the CSG technical leadership to drive the definition, development and continuous monitoring of the Product KPIs for product performance, quality and uptime.
  • Drive the integration of DTNA’s connected products with Telematics service providers, 3rd parties and key customers to ensure the success of digital vehicle and fleet management solutions powered by our Connected Truck Platform.

Be the Voice of Industry

  • Represent DTNA’s connected truck vision at Key DTNA Customer Meetings, and North American trucking, logistics industry and technology forums.

Qualifications:

  • Bachelor’s degree in engineering, computer science or related technical field.  Master’s degree preferred.

  • 10+ years of progressive technical leadership in the automotive commercial vehicle, heavy equipment, or transportation industry required.

  • Experience in digital or connected product, vehicle product or vehicle systems development and product management.

  • Deep understanding of the heavy-duty truck market, fleet operations, and emerging technologies (e.g., electrification, telematics, autonomous) preferred.
