Cunico, a BWXT company, was founded in 1951 in Long Beach, California and specializes in naval products for submarines, aircraft carriers, naval surface ships and LNG manifold/valve systems. This team manufactures Level 1 cold-formed and specialty fittings, piping systems and valves to Military Spec for the U.S. Navy, Electric Boat, Newport News, BAE Systems, Navantia, Ingalls and other companies in Europe.

Position Overview:
As our Quality Control Engineer, you will review specifications, create and review quality documentation, validate processes, and collaborate across teams to uphold the highest quality standards.
Location:
On-site in Long Beach, CA
Your Day to Day as a Quality Control Engineer:
- Review contracts and customer specifications to identify the required material property and NDT tests.
- Work with outside NDT labs to select the correct procedure and techniques accordingly.
- Issue purchase orders and follow up status with labs.
- Review parts measuring results, lab test certificates, material testing reports, and other required quality documents.
- Prepare final data package.
- Track and organize/archive quality records, such as calibrations, certifications, deviations/non-conformance reports, approved lab/procedure lists, etc.
- Follow quality program and procedures.
- Collaborate with production and engineering.
- Check products independently.
- Validate processes.
- Create/review quality documentations.
- Conduct internal and external, including customer and ISO, audits under supervision.
Required Qualifications:
- A minimum of a bachelor’s degree in engineering or physics is required.
- A minimum of four (4) years of relevant experience is required.
