Randall Reilly Partners is the Premier Transportation and Logistics Search partner for the nation’s critical companies. We have been engaged on a search for our client for a CDL A Team Driver for their growing fleet

What we need:

A CDL A Team Driver responsible for safely and efficiently transporting freight over long distances while operating in a team-driving environment. Your primary focus will be on OTR routes, ensuring timely deliveries, and adhering to all industry regulations and company policies. Team drivers work in a two-person setup, alternating driving and rest periods to maximize efficiency and minimize downtime.

CDL A Team Driver Responsibilities:

• Operate commercial motor vehicles in a safe and responsible manner, adhering to all traffic laws, company policies, and federal regulations. Maintain a high level of attention to safety to protect both team members and the public.
• Work closely with your driving partner to establish efficient communication and coordination. Alternate driving and resting periods to ensure continuous operation and timely delivery of freight.
• Plan routes and manage driving schedules to meet delivery deadlines. Coordinate with dispatch and logistics teams to ensure accurate and on-time deliveries.
• Perform pre-trip and post-trip inspections to ensure the proper functioning and safety of the vehicle. Report any maintenance or repair issues promptly to the maintenance department.
• Complete all required paperwork, logs, and electronic records accurately and in a timely manner, including but not limited to driver logs, bills of lading, and trip reports.
• Maintain a professional and courteous attitude when interacting with customers, clients, and other team members. Provide exceptional customer service and address any concerns or inquiries promptly.
• Comply with all federal, state, and local transportation regulations, as well as company policies and procedures.
• Demonstrate the ability to handle emergency situations appropriately, including accidents, breakdowns, and adverse weather conditions, following established protocols and procedures.

CDL A Team Driver Qualifications:

• Valid CDL Class A license with a clean driving record.
• Minimum of 2 years of verifiable OTR driving experience as part of a team.
• Be part of an existing team ready to transition in their next challenge
• Excellent driving skills and a commitment to safety.
• Ability to work collaboratively in a team-driving environment.
• Strong communication skills and the ability to maintain clear and efficient communication with co-driver and dispatch.
• Knowledge of DOT regulations and compliance requirements.
• Demonstrated reliability and punctuality.
• Flexibility to work varying schedules, including weekends and holidays, as needed.
• Physically fit to perform loading/unloading duties and conduct vehicle inspections.
