Summary/Objective  

Varsity Spirit is looking for a Jr. Art Director with a strong design background to join our Creative Team. This position plays a key role in elevating the Varsity Spirit Retail brand in both  print and digital  environments. You will support the team in creating trend-forward content for our fashion and beauty lines; Varsity Beauty, Varsity Footwear, and shop.varsity.com while working side by side with a group of fun, dynamic and collaborative team members. Create designs for over 200K social media followers. Captivate audiences of 75K at Varsity Spirit events. Collaborate on trend-forward apparel and beauty design content.

This is a hybrid position ( 4 days in office, 1 day remote) working out of our Memphis, TN Headquarters.

Job Responsibilities  

• Serve as the Jr. Art Director within the creative team, collaborating with others on design and content development
• Under the guidance of the Creative Director support in Conceptualizing, crafting and delivering impactful creative that stand out in the market place
• Support Art Directors in designing across multiple channels including email, social, print, web, presentations,   and corporate identity
• Juggle multiple projects at once
• Ensure consistency of quality and design across all projects
• Partner with Art Directors in presenting Present design concepts and the rationale behind them to your the brand team
• Stay current on creative, industry, category and media trends
• Work with a group of fun, dynamic and collaborative team members
• Deliver high-quality work on time and on budget
• Develops channel-specific creative that stands out in the market place
• Assist with ad hoc design projects

• Strong understanding of digital and social platforms

• Ability to thrive in a collaborative work environment

Education, Certification and Experience 

• Bachelors Degree in Graphic Design
• 0- 3 years experience in an Agency or Inhouse Creative Department
• Proficient in Adobe Creative Suite, Aftereffects, Illustrator, InDesign, Photoshop
• An online portfolio demonstrating relevant digital, print, web, and logo identity design solutions
