The Robotic Surgical Technologies Business Unit set the standard for Robotically Assisted Surgery (RAS) by creating innovative surgical products and services that focus on surgical procedures of diseases and conditions.You will join a team of mechanical, electrical and software engineers responsible for test developments for the Medtronic’s Robotic Assisted Surgery platform through commercial launch and production scale-up.

You Will:
- Working in a technical diverse environment
- Develop Software for test fixtures (e.g. controllers and controlled kinematics for robotic and instrumentational applications.
- Communicating between engineering services and external sources: electro-mechanical systems engineers, and test services.
- Creating and maintaining software repositories and version control
- Working in extended teams in need of software related services
- Working in controlled environment (medical devices), ISO60601
Must Have:
- Bachelors Degree and minimum of 4 years of relevant experience or
- Master's degree with a minimum of 2 years relevant experience or
- PhD with 0 years relevant experience
- Strong C, C++, Python knowledge/experience
- Extensive experience in QNX real time operating system
- Profound in software development for embedded systems
- Understanding of version control systems and configuration management (GIT)
Nice to Have:
- Experience with software development in a highly regulated environment
- Experience in maintaining code and designing software repositories
- Extensive experience in validating software and hardware
- Experience in developing software for electro-mechanical systems (robotics)
- Working knowledge of design, development, and trouble shooting of software for complex electromechanical systems
- Experience with microprocessor, microcontroller architectures and assembly language.
- Experience in shell scripting under Linux
- Understanding of standard OS features (e.g. threading and concurrency, memory management, device drivers, I/O, etc.) is strongly preferred
- Experience with industry standard communication interfaces such as UART, USB, I2C, SPI
- Experienced in documenting code and test procedures and releasing in industry standard repositories (e.g. Agile)
- Extensive experience in validating software and hardware
- Demonstrated ability to quickly interpret an extensive variety of technical information and find resolution to an issue quickly.
