Project Overview:

Bechtel is the licensing, engineering, procurement, and construction partner on TerraPower's Natrium team.  Selected by the U.S. Department of Energy (DOE) for its Advanced Reactor demonstration Program, Natrium is participating in a DOE initiative to re-establish U.S. leadership in nuclear energy that provides matching funds to industry to design and build an operational advanced reactor.  TerraPower, a leading advanced generation technology company founded by former Microsoft CEO Bill Gates, will be deploying its 345 MWE sodium fast reactor (SFR), called Natrium.  The Natrium Demonstration plant features an advanced, cost-competitive reactor design that is safer, easier and less costly to construct, less expensive to operate, and able to provide energy that is competitive with fossil fuels.  It also features an innovative molten salt storage output, combined, the plant can produce more than 500 MWE.  The Natrium Demonstration plant will be licenced by the U.S. Nuclear Regulatory Commission (NRC).

Job Summary:

In this role, you will participate in the analysis, improvement, and implementation of processes and associated engineering procedures and work instructions.  This role will interfaces with other engineering disciplines, other functional departments, our partners and the client.

Major Responsibilities:

• Coordinates job activities across different Engineering work-fronts to ensure consistent approach and delivery
• Obtains inputs and technical information from senior engineers across multilple disciplines for use in completing tasks
• Prepares and reviews project Engineering procedures to ensure alignment with Bechtel corporate and NS&E GBU procedures, client procedures, contract requirements, and applicable codes and standards
• Develops and presents training on procedures, miscellaneous policies and instructions for Engineering personnel
• Identifies, prepares and reports project Engineering quality metrics and associated trends
• Presents quality reports to Bechtel Management and customer personnel
• Participates in project quality surveillances and audits
• Coordinates Closed Loop Corrective Action (CLCA) program initiatives with project Engineering personnel
• Represents Engineering at the project Condition Report Review Committee (CRRC) meetings
• Promotes Condition Reporting and Lessons Learned programs, as available in DevonWay (or similar) application
• Monitors timely closure of Engineering condition reports and associated actions
