Boeing Defense, Space & Security (BDS) is currently seeking Numerical Control Maintenance Electricians to join the team. These roles will be supporting both maintenance and production needs of Boeing’s St. Louis and St. Charles facilities.

Position Responsibilities:
- Install maintain, repair and rework electronic and/or electrical systems related to machinery, plant facilities, and associated electronic/electrical components and/or specialized equipment such as power supplies, controllers, sensors, production equipment and building equipment
- Use technical knowledge, existing procedures or develop new procedures to diagnose and correct system and component malfunctions to achieve optimum operation efficiency
- Modify, test and calibrate pneumatic, electronic or electrical systems or components including interactive and electromechanical components and adaptive computer system machine controls
- Use electronic test equipment and other tools to accomplish work on numerically controlled (NC) or computer numerically controlled (CNC) or other similar devices used to control machine operation.
- Develop and establish methods to accomplish required maintenance, repair, retrofit, or modification of equipment and machinery.
The successful candidate will:
- Can work in a team environment or independently as the situation dictates.
- Be a self-starter and able to work with minimal direct supervision.
Basic Qualifications (Required Skills/Experience):
- 1+ of year of experience in NC (numerical control) maintenance
Preferred Qualifications (Desired Skills/Experience):
- Siemens control experience
- Allen Bradley control experience
- Previous medium or high voltage electrical distribution maintenance experience
- Two years of college level training with a degree, formal military training, completion of an accredited trade school or apprenticeship program, or demonstration of equivalent training/experience.
- Course in electronics/electromechanical components.
- Previous experience with HVAC / HVAC related components.
- Ability to obtain Security clearance as needed
- Ability to work any shift
Additional Information:
- The selected candidate must be able to work any shift, as assigned.
- This is an hourly position governed by the IBEW Collective Bargaining agreement.
- New Hires, as well as employees who transfer from non-union positions, may be required to attend some type of training upon their start. Once any required training has been completed all new employees will be considered on probation for a period of ninety (90) calendar days. Continued employment is contingent upon successful completion of the probationary period
The successful candidate will show a willingness to learn or demonstrate the following:
- Experience in troubleshooting of computer numerical controls (CNC), programmable logic controllers (PLC), AC and DC Drives, servo systems and variable frequency drives (VFDs).
- Experience in high/low pressure chillers, refrigeration systems, cascade systems, environmental chambers, direct fired make-up air units, and Data Center Environmental Systems.
- Diagnose electrical systems using various test equipment.
- Ability to troubleshoot direct digital controls (DDC) variable air volume systems (VAVs).
- Understand ladder diagrams, schematics, relay logic and motor controls wiring.
- Knowledge of personal computers and software including Word, Excel, and Microsoft Office applications.
- Ability to work safely in a production environment that at time include high noise levels, confined spaces and heights over thirty feet.
