Full Time Houseperson/Laundry Driver-IHG Army Hotels Holiday Inn Express-Fort Knox, Ky

JOB OVERVIEW:

Drive hotel laundry truck and Houseperson duties to and from our 5 hotel locations on post in a safe and courteous manner.

DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:

• Receive soiled lines by bag, cart. Inspect all laundry and linens and records all damaged or stained items.
• Report to supervisor needed repairs or unsafe conditions.
• Monitor and control supplies and minimize waste within laundry facility. 
• Sort and record discarded linen into categories.  Report damages or loss of linen to supervisor.
• Operate vehicle in accordance with state laws; observe all on post rules pertaining to driving vehicles.
• Perform daily inspection of vehicles; takes necessary action to correct deficiencies or unsafe conditions; always keep vehicle clean and neat.
• Promote teamwork and quality service through daily communications and coordination with other departments.     
• May assist with other duties as assigned. 
• Assist room attendants on assigned floors
•  collect dirty linens and transport to laundry area and deliver fresh linens to room attendant carts throughout the day
•  May assist with stripping linens from room and/or the cleaning of public areas
• Deliver and retrieve items requested by guests and housekeeping staff
• Clean other designated areas such as public restrooms, fixtures, vending areas, storage areas, and other public areas for assigned floors
• Maintain cleanliness and organization of floor closets and vending areas; remove trash, wipe down shelves/counters; sweep and wax floor, remove non-floor closet items and store in appropriate areas.
• Respond to guests’ requests such as delivery of housekeeping supplies (e.g. linens, cots, etc.) in a timely and efficient manner.

Qualifications and Requirements:

High School diploma or equivalent, and one year guest service or driver experience preferred.  Must speak fluent English.  Valid driver’s license required.

This job requires ability to perform the following:

1. Carrying, pushing, or lifting items weighing up to 100 pounds
2. Drive hotel laundry truck to and from our 5 hotel locations on post in a safe and courteous manner.
3. Delivery of supplies to hotel areas
4. Bending, stooping, kneeling

Other:

Communication skills are utilized a significant amount of time when interacting with clients, guests and employees.

1. Reading and writing abilities are utilized often when completing departmental records/logs, reading road signs, etc.. 
2. May be required to work nights, weekends, and/or holidays.

Work Area:  May consist of 5 hotel locations including Hotel Entrance, Lobby Area, Common Areas and Outside premises
