Accounting Specialist - Iron Mountain, MI

Job Overview

As an Accounting Specialist, you will be responsible for various accounts receivable (AR) tasks.  You could also support month end close, project costing, and/or accounts payable (AP) functions. Frequent communication with customers, employees, and business partners is required to resolve discrepancies, clarify issues, and ensure proper recording of transactions.

A Day In The Life

• Process customer invoices in computer system (Syteline)
• Provide weekly and monthly customer statements
• Work with customers to resolve past due invoices
• Work with Engineering and Sales to resolve AR matters
• Reconcile accounts receivable balance
• Answer customer inquiries
• Maintain filing system
• Process project costing transactions and validations
• Process weekly per diem
• Process monthly corporate credit cards
• Match invoices to receiving documents
• Verify/reconcile vendor statements
• Answer vendor inquiries
• Work with Purchasing and Receiving to resolve AP matters

What will help you thrive in this role?

• Associates Degree in Accounting is preferred
• Minimum two years office experience, preferably one year in accounting.
• Proficiency in Microsoft Word, Excel, and Outlook
• Experience with ERP software (SyteLine preferred)
• Good communication skills
• Strong organizational skills
• Strong problem-solving skills
• Attention to detail
• Ability to work independently or in a team
