Golf Ranger/Starter/Cart Attendant - Sleepy Hollow Golf Course

The Ranger/Starter/Cart Attendant serves the public and enhances their Cleveland Metroparks golf experience through providing exceptional customer service to golf guests, monitoring greens, coordinating order of play, and enforcing golf course etiquette, rules, and policies.

• Starters: Comfortable speaking to groups on the first tee, professionally delivering a brief starter message on rules, policies, and pacing.
• Rangers: Comfortable speaking with golfers about pace of play and golf etiquette, calmy and professionally addresses pace issues, cart rules, and guest concerns.
• Cart Attendants: Comfortable working independently, managing cart staging and guest flow in a busy area, assigning carts, directing golfers, and tracking turn times.
• Assist guests with equipment, carries bags to the power cart, pull cart, or bag rack. Answers questions or inquiries.
• Coordinates order of play from the first and tenth tee to maintain course assigned tee time intervals.
• Monitor the practice green and/or driving range for proper usage.
• Engage guests in a friendly and positive manner.
• Operates driving range ball picker cart and range ball washer.
• Monitors driving range ball dispensers and maintains an adequate supply of clean balls.
• Communicates and enforces all golf course etiquette, rules, and policies.
• Performs general housekeeping duties along driving range stations.
• Keeps direct supervisor promptly informed of key/significant issues or concerns.
• Regular and predictable attendance is expected and required. All Cleveland Metroparks employees must be prepared to work flexible schedules, including evenings, weekends, and/or holidays as required.

Qualifications

• Must possess and maintain a valid driver’s license.
• Demonstrated ability to establish and maintain good public relations with golfers, under sometimes difficult circumstances.
• Role includes assisting guests with basic golf questions; comfort with golf basics (terminology, etiquette, course flow) is preferred.
• Must be able to work independently and manage cart staging/guest flow, including assigning carts, directing golfers, staying organized, and tracking turn times.
• Ability to develop and maintain effective working relationships with stakeholders, including employees and the general public.
• Ability to speak and write clearly, concisely and persuasively using correct grammar, spelling and punctuation with ability to communicate one-on-one or in group settings.
• Ability to perform work with a high degree of accuracy and organization.
• Ability to work cooperatively with others.
• Ability to perform with considerable independence and initiative

Work Schedule: Must be available a minimum of three (3) days per week, including weekends and holidays. Shifts (up to 6 hours in length) may be scheduled early mornings or later afternoon hours, anytime between sunrise and sunset, based on operational needs.   Application Deadline:  Open until filled
