Systems Administrator Senior

Our work depends on Systems Administrator Senior joining our team to provide in-depth knowledge and expertise to a secure communications project for the Department of State.
HOW A SYSTEMS ADMINISTRATOR SENIOR WILL MAKE AN IMPACT
● Manages the functionality and efficiency of a group of computers running on one or more operating systems
● Perform systems design, development, and integration from the start of a systems life cycle to the end
● Provides and applies engineering to highly complex infrastructures including installing, configuring, testing, and maintaining operating systems, application software, and system management tools
● Performs continual maintenance and provides advanced solutions for security, backup, and redundancy problems
● Prepares and maintains documentation for processes and procedures related to engineering projects
● Maintains current knowledge of rapidly changing technology, always on the lookout for new technologies, and works with management to evolve current processes
● Invents innovative ways to drive production operational efficiency
● Drives scalability and operability of supported systems/infrastructure
● Implements, manages, and enhances Continuous Integration and Delivery (CI/CD) pipeline tools
● Provides system/equipment/specialized training and technical guidance
● May coach and provide guidance to less-experienced professionals
● May serve as a team or task lead
WHAT YOU’LL NEED TO SUCCEED:
● Education: Requires an engineering Bachelor's degree or equivalent experience
● Required Experience: 5+ years of related experience
● Required Technical Skills: Experience with Microsoft Windows and RedHat Enterprise Linux
● Security Clearance Level: Active Secret Clearance is required
● Required Skills and Abilities: Strong technical communication skills with the ability to convey complex information clearly and effectively
● Preferred Skills: Experience with Splunk, ScienceLogic, VMWare products (such as vSphere, vCenter, and Horizon VDI). Experience with scripting languages such as PowerShell, Bash, Python, and/or C#. Experience managing Active Directory including group policies and DNS.
● Location: Full time on customer site in Springfield, VA
