Our Director of Business Intelligence is responsible for the leadership and strategic direction of the organization's business intelligence initiatives. Develops tools and processes for retrieving, analyzing, and reporting actionable data insights across the organization. Directs the daily operations of advanced analysts in the Business Intelligence department, including management and supervision of departmental Business Partners and development of advanced data models. This position educates all levels of staff on best practices and strategic implementation of company data usage, quality and governance. Other related duties as assigned.
Major Duties and Responsibilities
- Establishes short-term plans to accomplish long-term goals, and prioritizes initiatives to ensure completion within deadlines. Manages requests from multiple stakeholders and communicates time lines to support organizational initiatives.
- Directs business partners and internal leaders, developing organizational data into informative models and actionable reports. Results are visually appealing and educational to support sound business decisions by stakeholders. Identifies new sources of data and supports automated/API integration to enrich the level of actionable intelligence within the organization.
- Develops direction and vision for organizational data strategy and secures resources essential to success. Rallies support for, and drives adoption of, a data-driven culture with stakeholders across the organization.
- Researches, develops, and implements predictive and prescriptive data models for use in driving actionable decisions. Works with advanced programing languages and statistics to drive and validate quantitative internal metricss.
- As a member of the Leadership Team, assist in the formulation/execution of Credit Union policies/strategic direction.
- Enhances communication with departments across the organization. Promotes employee engagement and organizational values inside and outside the organization. Sets employee performance plans, coaches staff to success, and resolves employee issues and performance problems within organizational culture.
- Establishes standards for governance of business intelligence data, ensuring accuracy and precision within data model and reporting outputs. Develops standards for performance metrics and rallies support for uniform measurements of business processes.
- Must comply with all company policies and procedures, applicable laws and regulations, including but not limited to the Bank Secrecy Act, the Patriot Act, and the Office of Foreign Assets Control.

Knowledge and Skills
Experience
Eight years to ten years of similar or related experience, including preparatory experience. Minimum of five years of advanced data analytics or business intelligence experience required. Supervisory experience strongly preferred.
Education/Certifications/Licenses
Bachelor's Degree in computer science, information systems, or related field. Master's degree and certification in data analytics or business intelligence preferred.
Interpersonal Skills
The ability to motivate or influence internal or external senior level professionals is a critical part of the job, requiring a significant level of influence and trust. Obtaining cooperation and agreement on important outcomes via frequently complex, senior level dialogues, as well as a professional level of written communication skills are essential to the position.
Other Skills
Expert level knowledge with data visualization platforms such as Power BI or Tableau required. Detailed knowledge of SQL Python, R, Java (or similar), statistical theory, and database design/administration is required. General business knowledge of financial institutions and the credit union industry also preferred. Must have the ability to work in a professional manner. Must be able to work quickly and accurately.
FULL TIME POSITION
Starting Range: $88,804.24 - $99,376.17
Full Range: $84,575.46 - $126,863.20
Note: Starting salary is dependent on location and experience. Position is located at World Headquarters in Cheyenne.
