The University of Nevada, Reno’s Fitness and Recreation Sports department is looking for upbeat, high energy, flexible fitness instructors to work with both college students and faculty. They will also need to possess basic experience in operating gym equipment and giving instructions to others on how to use it. Classes may be for credit (PEX) or drop-in. Contracts run semester to semester.

PEX classes include:

• Aerobics

• Cycling

• Introduction to Fitness

• Karate

• Pilates

• Strength Training

• Swimming

• Water Polo

• Yoga

Responsibilities

• Creating workouts to improve muscular endurance, flexibility and cardiovascular health

• Instructing members to safely use gym equipment properly

• Setting fitness goals and monitoring progress

Required Qualifications

• Candidates must have a current group fitness certification

• Candidates must have a current CPR certification

• Candidates must possess basic experience in operating gym equipment and giving instructions to others on how to use it

• Candidates must have flexibility with work schedule

• Candidates must have the ability to modify and scaffold workouts for beginners and advanced attendees
