Group Lead Material Handling - 100

Position Description

Coordinates the movement of purchased and manufactured materials to ensure parts are at designated locations.

Job Responsibilities

1. Coordinates and prioritizes work activities of assigned material handlers to ensure correct materials are delivered to assigned locations.
2. Coordinates flow of materials with a specific manufacturing area and off site locations.
3. Maintains accurate inventory records; corrects variances from scheduled cycle counts.  Maintains neat and organized storage areas ensuring accurate inventory management.
4. Ensures established safe operating procedures are routinely practiced by all material handlers.
5. Trains employees; assigns and directs work; provides feedback to supervisor regarding employee work performance; addresses complaints and resolves problems.
6. Performs other duties as assigned.

Job Skills Requirements

• Basic reading, writing, math and computer skills.
• Fluent in English and primary language used in area of responsibility and/or location

Education

High School diplomaGeneral Education Degree

Experience Requirements

• 2 years experience in a manufacturing and/or inventory control environment.

Physical & Environmental Requirements

Some physical demand; often lifting/moving average weight (25-50 lbs/11-27 kgs) material, may be required to lift up to 70lbs.Generally good working conditions.Ability to stand and/or walk constantly over a full work shift (8-12 hours)Ability to perform occasional to frequent pushing, pulling, bending, kneeling, twisting, crawling and/or reaching over a full work shift (8-12 hours)
