Job Description
The Senior Supervisor of Factory Operations demonstrates the highest levels of servant leadership to ensure vision of company is realized in area of responsibility. Responsible for having up to date information in order to make decisions on higher level priorities and initiatives involving other departments and plants. Helps with ensuring the plant metrics are being met and helps with corrective action when they are not. Ensures communication across shifts is strengthened by having a single point of contact. Acts as a trained replacement during the area senior manager’s absence. Also functions as a coach and communicator keeping staff up to date on company and department information.
This position reports to the Sr. Manager of Factory Operations and is based out of our Lonoke, Arkansas office.
What you'll do:
- Responsible for having up to date information in order to make decisions or recommendations on higher level priorities and initiatives which may involve other departments and plants.
- Ensures communication across shifts by being a single point of contact.
- Acts as a replacement during area senior manager’s absence.
- Manages department metrics with respect to cost and quality of production, and meeting production schedules and delivery dates.
- Will directly supervise employees within the plant.
- Manages all safety issues in the department ensuring that goals are met; anticipates and acts on potential safety problems, completes investigations and reports on a timely basis.
- Ensures continuous improvement in utilization of plant equipment and facilities recommending and implementing changes in production methods and material handling procedures when necessary.
- Manages all human resources activities/issues for department in an effective and timely manner, conferring with manufacturing manager and Human Resources as needed; ensures that all actions are within established Equal Opportunity Employment and Affirmative Action guidelines and company policies.
- Confers with Scheduler in establishment of schedules that balance customer service with plant efficiency.
- Participates in the recommendation and planning process for purchase of new capital equipment; manages improvement projects for assigned production area.
- Collects output data from each operation throughout the shift and takes appropriate action when variances are found.
- Manages all preventive maintenance activities for assigned production areas.
- Manages the WIP levels to ensure plan is met as well as production efficiency requirements. Manages staffing levels and activities on an on-going basis in cooperation with other departments.
- Communicates daily with all direct reports as well as peer supervisors to ensure critical information is transferred both ways and to create and maintain an environment of shared commitment and cooperation.
Experience you bring:
- High School Diploma or GED; Post high school education preferred
- 2+ years’ manufacturing leadership experience (preferred in the plant where the opening exists)
- Demonstrated examples of: creative/analytical problem-solving skills, successful team leadership, good communication skills, project follow-up and/or sustaining implemented changes and supporting change in operation or procedures
- Willingness and flexibility to adjust working hours to communicate with other shifts as needed
- Ability to manage a work team in a manner that achieves continuous improvement utilizing employee cooperation/involvement and group problem solving
- Possesses strong communication skills with the ability to make effective group presentations as well as hold individual feedback sessions
- Ability to make logical decisions in a dynamic, and at times ambiguous, work environment
- Demonstrated ability to work well and communicate with multiple departments
- Proficient with MS Office: Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Outlook
- Experience with or ability to learn MAX
Work Environment:
Employee work assignments may include tasks working with and/or exposure to potentially hazardous areas, including flammables and explosives. Safety training is provided to all employees to ensure compliance with company and federal regulations.
Pay Range:
$73,100.00 - $102,200.00The actual annual salary offered to a candidate will be based on variables including experience, geographic location, education, and skills/achievements, and will be mutually agreed upon at the time of offer.
