Job Summary

We are seeking a CDL Transport Driver to join our team! The Refined Fuels Transport Driver is responsible for loading, transporting and delivering refined fuels using a tanker truck (11,400-gallon capacity). Our Transport Drivers are committed to Service, Efficiency and Safety. This position requires a Class A CDL license with hazmat and tanker endorsements.

This position will support our Pico Propane and Fuels location in Odessa, TX. 

Duties/Responsibilities:

  • Comply with all city, state, and federal regulations
  • Loads, secures, transports, delivers and unloads product
  • Performs pre- and post-trip inspections on equipment used for the transportation of hazardous materials
  • Plans and accomplishes operational assignments that are varied and moderately complex to complex
  • Gauges tank volumes and tests product quality and specifications of bulk petroleum products while transporting from a variety of locations using a class eight tractor and a tanker trailer
  • Maintains the operational efficiency of vehicles by monitoring truck maintenance needs, conducting minor repairs and conducting daily DOT truck inspections to ensure maximum vehicle safety
  • Maintains and completes accurate records by documenting truck inspections, hours of service, product transported, and miles driven
  • Ensures that delivery vehicle receives service according to maintenance schedule; reports larger service needs and mechanical issues to supervisor
  • Performs other related duties as assigned

Qualifications

Skills/Abilities:

  • Ability to effectively and efficiently use navigation tools such as GPS, smartphone apps, and/or web-based or physical maps
  • Ability to maintain accurate logs and records
  • Ability to carry out a series of instructions with limited supervision
  • Knowledge of Federal Motor Carrier Safety Regulations

Education and Experience:

  • High school diploma or equivalent
  • Class A CDL license with tanker and hazmat endorsements required
  • Must meet all DOT requirements
  • Ability to obtain Transportation Workers Identification Card (TWIC)
  • No more than 1 moving violation in the previous 2 years
  • 3+ years tractor and trailer experience in propane and/or fuel distribution (preferred)
  • 1+ years tanker experience within the last 5 years

Physical, Mental, and Behavioral Requirements:

The physical requirements described here are representative of those that must be met by the incumbent to successfully perform the essential functions of this job.

  • Position requires the ability to stand, walk, stoop, kneel, crouch and manipulate (lift, carry, move) light to heavy weights of 10 to 80 lbs. for approximately 90% of the work shift
  • Ability to regularly climb in and out of a commercial motor vehicle, multiple times per work shift
  • Good hand eye coordination,
