The Merrill Senior Client Relationship Manager (SCRM) is a direct report to the Division Client Relationship Executive (DCRE) with responsibilities spanning across multiple markets.  The SCRM functions as an extension of the division leadership team, manages the Market Client Relationship Managers (MCRMs) and partners with the Market Executives (MEs) to ensure markets maintain appropriate Operations and Service support. The SCRM is responsible for coaching MCRMs in the execution of Market Strategy Plans, coordinating MCRM coverage across markets, maintaining operational discipline through scheduled mock audits and remediation oversight, and ensuring timely responses from the branch on regulatory and risk related procedures.  

Specific responsibilities include, but are not limited to:

  • Hiring, developing, and leading a team of Market Client Relationship Managers
  • coaching MCRMs in the advancement of firm strategy and delivering an exceptional client service model focusing on digital solutions and enterprise capabilities
  • Partnering with the Division Leadership Team to ensure markets maintain appropriate service support staff while identifying opportunities to create process efficiencies
  • Overseeing the timely completing of remediations and consistently driving accountability for adherence to deadlines and processes
  • Resolving complex, escalated client service and operational needs
  • Representing Merrill Wealth Management with clients, prospects, Financial Advisor recruits, vendors, regulators, and outside legal counsel

Key Qualifications for the role:

  • Candidates are required to currently hold Series 7 AND Series 66 (or Series 63 AND Series 65), Series 9 AND Series 10 (or Series 8) or equivalent licenses
  • Minimum 5+ years professional experience required
  • Current or previous MWM experience strongly preferred
  • Self-motivated and client centric
  • Expert knowledge of regulatory and supervisory requirements and corporate policies and procedures
  • Investment product knowledge (i.e., 401K, Options, Annuities, Tax, Retirement Plans, Money Funds, Mutual Funds, Liabilities, Margin, Trust Operations, etc.)
  • Prior trend analysis experience
  • Risk Manager: Ensures proper risk discipline, controls and culture are in place to identify, escalate and debate issues.
  • People Manager & Coach: Provides inspection, coaching and feedback to motivate, differentiate and improve performance.
  • Financial Steward: Actively manages expenses and budgets in alignment with objectives, making sound financial decisions.
  • Enterprise Talent Leader: Assesses talent and builds bench strength for roles across the organization.
  • Driver of Business Outcomes: Delivers results by effectively prioritizing, inspecting and appropriately delegating team work.
