Assistant to the Dean
School of Natural Sciences
St. Edward's University of Austin, Texas invites applications for the position of Assistant to the Dean of the School of Natural Sciences. This is a full-time, salaried position that involves providing comprehensive support to the Dean of the School of Natural Sciences, managing the projects and procedures executed within the school, and representing the school with competence and discretion to external stakeholders.
For consideration, candidates must have a bachelor's degree or higher and three or more years in a management/executive support role, including at least two years in a higher education environment. This role requires attention to detail, excellent written and verbal communication skills, a high level of professionalism and discretion, ability to manage multiple projects and competing priorities, and proficiency with standard and specialized office software.
Essential Responsibilities Include:
- Managing the dean's workflow, including calendar, correspondence, and tasks
- Managing the school's administrative systems and processes
- Supporting the dean in advancing strategic initiatives, including fundraising
- Serving as a liaison between the school and external stakeholders (including donors, community partners, and advisory board members)
- Supporting faculty searches
- Assisting the dean with external communications and public relations
- Other duties as assigned
