Senior Accountant

Kingsway Community is hiring for a new role! The Senior Accountant will be responsible for a variety of accounting and finance activities, with a primary focus on managing payroll processing for our 25-acre healthcare campus located in the Woodlawn section of Schenectady, NY.

In this role, you will be responsible for managing all aspects of payroll processing, as well as account reconciliations, management reporting and providing additional accounting support as necessary. Essential Duties and Responsibilities:

· Accurate and timely review of timecards, paycheck processing, and preparation of statutory reporting

· Perform complex account reconciliations and analyses including bi-weekly labor management reporting  

· Assist in budget development and production of ad-hoc reports for five legal entities

· Serve as internal expert resource for training users on Timekeeping & HRIS software applications

· Establish effective working relationships with leadership while maintaining our service excellence culture

· Record cash receipts and disbursements for select entities & transaction types as assigned

· Support other Finance team members in cross-training on other select responsibilities as assigned

Requirements

Knowledge, Skills and Abilities:

· Demonstrated ability to work in challenging, sensitive, and confidential situations

· Knowledge of GAAP and customary audit procedures

· Proficiency with Excel & other MS Office applications, relevant ERP/GL software experience a plus

· Excellent interpersonal skills, strong verbal and written communication skills

· Ability to meet simultaneous deadlines while maintaining highest level of accuracy and professionalism  

Education and Experience:

· Associates or Bachelors Degree required

· Minimum 3 years work experience in finance or accounting, Healthcare experience a plus

· A combination of education and experience may be considered at Kingsway’s discretion
