Contract CAD Specialist

Bailey sold its first forklift in 1949. Since then, Baily has been a family-owned and operated business dedicated to selling, leasing, renting, servicing, and providing parts for forklift trucks throughout the Southeast. 

Bailey is looking to hire a Contract CAD Specialist for our Chattanooga location! The hours for this contract position will be project based.  The Contract CAD (computer aided design) Specialist is responsible for producing accurate and timely CAD drawings for facility and equipment layout proposals. This position will collaborate with sales and service staff to produce warehouse and intralogistics design documents for presentation to customers.   

Responsibilities:

1. Produce computer aided design (CAD) drawings for facility and equipment layout proposals.
2. Collaborate with sales staff in the design of projects involving warehouse products. 
3. Assist in determining and verifying building measurements and other related information required for proper design. 
4. Create alternative designs to enhance space utilization, increase product flow, improve efficiency, and reduce cost.
5. Collaborate with sales staff and customers regarding required changes to existing drawings.
6. Meet with sales staff and customers at customer locations. Visit sites before, during and after equipment installation to respond to installation questions and to ensure proper installation.
7. Work closely with Warehouse Solutions team regarding the scheduling and progress of material delivery. 
8. Assist in the coordination of equipment required for installation and perform coordination functions as necessary.
9. Handle other duties and special projects as assigned.  

Requirements

Education/Training/Experience:

• Associate Degree in CAD or Engineering Degree
• 3-5 years experience with technical drawing in a business environment
• Facilities design experience, creating full buildings and spatial dimensioning
• Strong problem-solving abilities and attention to detail to ensure accuracy in designs
• Simulation creation and analysis (preferred)
• Experience with warehouse/intralogistics design (preferred)
• Experience with Revit or Navisworks (preferred)
