POSITION SUMMARY:
Utilizing accounting standards established by Generally Accepted Accounting Principles, perform varied and essential data entry, reconciliation, collection and financial analysis functions for the organization, provide excellent customer service to all stakeholders who require financial information and/or services, and operate as a key member of the accounting team who works in concert with his or her peers to achieve the organization’s goals.

ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS:
- Execute all tasks with an emphasis on accuracy and precision while completing the required volume of work.
- Conduct business in a cheerful, professional and efficient manner.
- Be or become familiar with the applicable laws and regulations governing nonprofit accounting in the State of Georgia.
- Be able to operate as a member of a team and develop the necessary skills to step in for other team members when needed.
- Manage time effectively and ensure each task is completed by the assigned deadline.
- Always maintain a clean and organized workspace.
- Contribute positively to the organization and the mission.
- Excel at performing all assigned duties within your Area of Responsibility, which may include but are not limited to:
- Daily monitoring of the Association’s bank accounts
- Daily preparation of the daily available cash balance report
- Daily transaction processing and receipting within the Organization’s point of service software and accounting software
- Daily financial closeout management
- Daily management of ACH transactions received and issued by the company
- Weekly review of branch general ledger postings to ensure accuracy
- Monthly bank statement reconciliations
- Monthly balance sheet account reconciliations
- Monthly fixed asset set up and tracking
- Monthly journal entry postings
- Perform Month End Close and prepare and issue financial statements
- Participate in the organization’s annual budgeting process
- Perform financial analysis and budget variance reporting as requested
- Support and occasionally perform all accounting duties including accounts payable, accounts receivable and collections
- Serve as the point of contact and project manager for the organization's annual external audit and 990 preparation
- Perform grant budgeting, tracking and reporting as assigned
- Support the organization’s annual and capital fundraising campaigns
- Provide excellent customer service to all stakeholders
- Manage the department’s records retention obligations
- Serve as the primary contact for Association staff members inquiring about processes, procedures, and outcomes of the Finance department
- All other duties as assigned.
Qualifications
QUALIFICIATIONS AND CERTIFICATIONS:
- A minimum of a bachelor’s degree in business administration from an accredited university with a focus in Accounting, Finance, or other related field is required for this position.
- At least one year of professional experience with a focus on general ledger management is required for this position.
