MRI Clinical Assistant

Full-time or Part-time, can be 72 or 80 hours/pay period

Monday-Friday between the hours of 8am-6pm

The MRI Clinical Assistant works closely with the MRI Technologist, MRI Manager, Director, and Radiologists to care for our patients in the day-to-day operations of the MRI Department with minimal supervision. The MRI Clinical Assistant assists with MRI imaging workflows in order to provide quality patient care, assumes responsibility for designated services and assists the MRI Technologist and MRI Manager in administration and management of meeting goals and objectives that are set forth by the Mankato Clinic’s Board of Directors and Administration.

Key Job Duties

1. Assist MRI Technologist with imaging procedures on appropriate anatomical regions in accordance with accepted standards of practice and protocols of the individual site Radiologist.
2. Assists with the Patient Screening form and answers general questions for patient.
3. Maintains patient care, comfort and safety during transport to and from the MRI table and during the exam. Completes pre-visit planning to ensure all clinical info is available for imaging/Radiologist (Outside images, verifying safety form, & patient understanding of exam/safety).
4. Completes necessary clerical tasks as assigned (i.e. billing, pre-visit planning, etc).
5. Maintain a clean, neat and organized department in order to promote a positive image to all.

Required

• High school diploma or equivalent
• At least 2 years working as a Clinical Assistant, Nursing Assistant, EMT, or in direct patient care
• Clerical skills including the ability to utilize office computers/programs efficiently
• Attention to detail, great teamwork skills & excellent communication skills
• Current BLS (CPR) certification required or obtained within 90 days of start date
• Pass MRI safety clearance as determined by department

Preferred

• Higher education in a healthcare-related field is preferred
• A general knowledge of medical practice and dedication to patient satisfaction
• An ability to work effectively with all providers, staff and patients

 

Benefits & Compensation:

Base Pay Range: $16.90-$23.50, initial pay based on relevant work experience.
