Intake Director

Houston Behavioral Healthcare Hospital offers inpatient acute care services, along with Intensive Outpatient Programs and Partial Hospitalization Programs, which support patients during their transition from hospitalization or help prevent the need for it. Our psychiatric facility ensures a secure environment, staffed by knowledgeable and compassionate mental health professionals, fostering a person-centered treatment approach that encourages stabilization and recovery.

Houston Behavioral Hospital is recruiting an Intake Director, with strong communication skills, organizational skills, team player, and customer service, fulltime, (Monday-Friday, 8am-4pm).

Responsible in the management of the day-to-day operations of the Assessment & Referral Department, ensuring prospective service, link recipients' to appropriate resources or care providers. To assess the needs of walk-in clients and phone callers and ensure their referral to the service or resource to best address those needs.

• Intake calls must be documented and processed in accordance with Intake policies

• In house assessments are completed with treatment referral recommendations made and documented; use the approved admission criteria and make decisions concerning the level of care for treatment using the least restrictive level appropriate.

• As an Registered Nurse or Licensed Clinician, you will direct and assist Administration, Physician, and clinical staff in the assessment of pending admissions and referrals.

• Plans, coordinates, and evaluates direct and indirect facility assessments and client admissions

• Directs the screening of potential clients for admission into the program and initiate the integrated assessment process

• On call doctor is notified and assists with patient interview

• Administrative approval obtained for all admissions

• Admission paperwork is completed in accordance with hospital policy

• Follow up calls are made to those failing to show up for appointments

• Pre-certification is obtained in accordance with insurance requirements

• Administration is notified of problems or significant events

• Safety problems are identified and corrective actions taken

Requirements

Education:

ADN or BSN required. Masters Degree preferred.

Licensure and certification Required: LCSW, or LMSW, Masters required.

Experience:

(5) years of clinical experience in a psychiatric or mental health setting, or continuum of care. Prior Intake experience in Assessment and intervention skills and knowledge of DSM5 diagnostic criteria preferred.
