The Outpatient Clinical Oncology RN is responsible for the provision and coordination of patient centered care in an outpatient hospital based healthcare clinic in compliance with ONS/ONCC and organization standards. The RN works cooperatively and collaboratively with other members of the healthcare team while maintaining confidentiality, integrity, quality care, and professionalism. The RN must be able to demonstrate the knowledge and skills necessary to provide care and service, appropriate to the age of the patients served in his/her area. Performs other duties as required.

 

Minimum Qualifications 

  • Associates Degree in Nursing 
  • Current State of California RN license 
  • Current Basic Life Support (BLS) 
  • ONS/ONCC Chemotherapy Biotherapy Certificate
  • Oncology Certified Nurse Preferred (OCN) 
  • 1 year of Oncology Nursing experience

 

 

Pay Range: $51.70 - $77.05 hourly 

**Individual wages are determined based upon a number of factors including, but not limited to, an individual’s qualifications and experience

Tenet complies with federal, state, and/or local laws regarding mandatory vaccination of its workforce. If you are offered this position and must be vaccinated under any applicable law, you will be required to show proof of full vaccination or obtain an approval of a religious or medical exemption prior to your start date. If you receive an exemption from the vaccination requirement, you will be required to submit to regular testing in accordance with the law.

The RN provides high-quality, safe, cost-effective, total nursing care to all patients. The RN assumes responsibility for overall coordination and integration of patient care based on the nursing process. The RN directs care according to established standards of safety, risk management, QI, and Infection Control, with the goal being to discharge the patient with an optimum level of care provided. Assumes responsibility for coordination and planning of patient care within the prescribed medical regime. Administers all medications safely and in a timely manner per hospital policy. Performs and fulfills all HICS (hospital incident command system) responsibilities, assignments, tasks, and roles as directed and needed by the facility in times of emergency and/or disaster. Responsible for knowing the Hospital’s emergency codes, including the purpose and appropriate action for each, and adheres to the Hospital policies and procedures for each emergency code.     

Education:

Required: Graduated from a state approved school of nursing or an accredited school.
Preferred: Bachelor's or Master's degree in Nursing

Experience:

Preferred: Recent acute care experience.

Certifications:

Required: Currently licensed, certified, or registered to practice profession as required by law, regulation in state of practice or policy; CPR. AHA BLS, and if applicable by corporate policy for unit of hire, AHA ACLS and/or PALS and/or NRP.
