Sr. Sustainability Manager

JOB SUMMARY:

This role is responsible for leading ContourGlobal’s Social Sustainability strategy, ensuring alignment with corporate objectives and regulatory frameworks. The position provides expertise in stakeholder engagement, social investment, human rights, DEI, and sustainability disclosures while supporting the development of governance structures, training programs, and performance metrics. Additionally, it plays a key role in managing stakeholder relationships, driving business growth initiatives, and enhancing social performance models.

 

The position is based in Santiago, Chile.

 

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Collaborate across functions to ensure Social Sustainability objectives, targets and programs are properly aligned with corporate objectives.
  • Provide technical expertise on key issues related to Social Sustainability and related risks in the development, construction, operations and maintenance of power plants
  • Act as a Social Sustainability subject matter expert, including but not limited to Community and External Stakeholder Engagement, Social Investment program development and tracking, Complaints and Grievance Mechanisms, Cultural Resources, DEI (Diversity, Equity & Inclusion) Human Rights, and Sustainability disclosures, with a clear focus on Just Transition principles. 
  • Collaborate across functional groups and assist in the development of Social Sustainability training and capacity-building sessions.
  • Support development of global Social Sustainability metrics and targets, and associated governance, including incident reporting guidance.
  • Monitor global Social Sustainability impacts, trends, regulatory developments, and areas of improvement.
  • Manage assurance process of key Social Sustainability metrics and disclosures.
  • Develop Sustainability disclosures, ensuring they are accurate and reported transparently, both internally and externally, through various formats and achieving compliance with applicable requirements, where present.
  • Demonstrated knowledge and familiarity with Sustainability disclosure frameworks and requirements (e.g. CSRD, CSDDD, IFRS, SASB, GRI, TCFD, IFC PS, etc.).
  • Support Social Sustainability risk assessment reviews of growth opportunities, including BD and M&A.
  • Refine and improve Social Performance models and processes for data collection, target-setting, tracking, management and reporting.  
  • Support development of a 3-year Social Investment Road Map and tracking processes to ensure businesses execute on their commitment.
  • Support development of sustainable financing initiatives.
  • Proactively manage relationships with key stakeholders, including sustainability ratings groups, and other advocacy groups.
  • Represent CG’s Social Sustainability interests
