Job Purpose

BorgWarner PowerDrive Systems is currently looking for “dynamic, results driven” individuals to join the ASIC Design group as a Staff Engineer, Digital IC Design. The Staff Engineer, Digital IC Design, will be responsible for implementing the digital content of mixed-mode ASICs in support of Electrification products.

Key Responsibilities

  • Work with a Cross-Functional Team of IC Architects, Analog and Digital Designers, and Product and Test Engineers to formulate solutions to customer requirements
  • Develop Behavioural Models of proposed solutions
  • Perform RTL Design and functional verification in VHDL, Verilog and/or System-Verilog
  • Perform RTL-to-Gate Synthesis
  • Perform Formal Verification including linting, LEC, code coverage, assertions, etc.
  • Perform Static Timing Analysis and Dynamic Timing Analysis with back-annotation
  • Perform Automatic Test Pattern Generation (ATPG)
  • Document Results and Conduct Detailed Design Reviews
  • Mentor other Digital Designers

What We’re Looking For

  • Bachelor’s degree in Electrical Engineering; however, Master’s degree is preferred
  • 5+ years of experience performing RTL based Digital Design and Verification; however, 8+ years is preferred
  • Experience in mentoring and training other employees preferred
  • Expert knowledge of VHDL, Verilog, and/or System-Verilog preferred
  • Innate curiosity and a passion for problem solving
  • Excellent communication skills, written and verbal
  • Ability to work both independently and as a member of a team
  • Familiarity with analog circuits and mixed-signal simulation methodologies
  • Experience with a wide range of software related to Linting, Synthesis, LEC, STA, ATPG, Place-and-Route
