Position Summary

Deloitte Tax LLP seeks a Tax Senior in Chicago, Illinois.

Work You’ll Do
Assist clients to manage state tax liability and such challenges as states with unique tax laws, the enforcement focus of state departments of revenue, the growing number of audits, and increased merger and acquisition activity. Provide services related to business restructuring and state income and franchise tax. Provide compliance and consulting services to corporate and individual clients. Identify complex tax issues and provide tax analysis for a variety of entities and their affiliates. Assist with overseeing complex tax research projects for clients in diverse industries and researching and analyzing a wide range of tax issues. Undertake tax compliance assignments for clients. Assume tax-planning responsibilities for corporate and individual clients. Will commute within the Chicago, IL area to consult with clients concerning the above job duties.

Requirements
Bachelor’s (or higher) degree in Accounting, Finance, Data Analytics, or related field (willing to accept foreign education equivalent) plus eighteen months of experience as a Tax Senior or related occupation gaining experience preparing tax returns, estimates, extensions, and provisions for corporations and partnerships in multistate jurisdictions. Experience must include eighteen months of:

  1. preparing tax returns, estimates, and extensions for partnerships and pass-through entities in multistate jurisdictions
  2. performing tax research utilizing tax software and tools, including CorpTax, GoSystem, BNA, and CCH
  3. preparing K-1s and withholding and composite returns for partnerships and limited liability companies in multi-state jurisdictions
  4. preparing state income and franchise tax returns for corporations and partnerships based on varying state regulations for the apportionment of income and nexus creating activities
  5. assisting with mediating between clients and state revenue departments to resolve state tax notices, and other tax-related issues and inquiries.

Less than 10% domestic travel outside normal commuting distance.

Annual Salary: $68,180.00 - $126,620.00.
