Description


 

The Jr. Accountant focuses on managing daily accounting tasks, processing weekly payroll, assisting in month-end reporting, and supporting accounts payable processes. This position will also help with general ledger entries, state and local tax filings, and basic financial analysis.   • Process weekly payroll accurately and in a timely manner.
  • Assist with daily entries and reconciliations for the general ledger.
  • Support the management of accounts related to medical receivables, capital assets, and payroll.
  • Help prepare and review journal entries.
  • Participate in month-end closing processes by compiling data and assisting in the preparation of financial reports.
  • Assist in analysis to ensure accurate financial reporting.
  • Assist in generating basic financial reporting and reconciliation of EMR data to ensure accuracy.
  • Collaborate with clinical and finance teams.
  • Support the Accounts Payable team by reviewing vendor invoices for accuracy and completeness.
  • Assist in processing payments and reconciling vendor statements.
  • Help resolve discrepancies in accounts payable under supervision.
  • Assist in the preparation of basic state and local tax filings, including sales and use taxes.
  • Ensure timely submission of filings and maintain organized tax records.
  • Support the team during audits and help gather required documentation.
  • Provide basic support during mergers and acquisitions, including assisting with financial due diligence tasks.
  • Help integrate financial data from acquired companies into existing accounting systems.

Requirements


  • Bachelor’s degree in accounting.
  • A minimum of 2 years of accounting experience.
  • Basic knowledge of accounting principles and general ledger functions.
  • Proficient in Microsoft Excel; experience with NetSuite is a plus. Experience with Paylocity is a plus.
  • Willingness to learn about state and local tax regulations.
  • Strong interest in healthcare finance and patient accounting systems (EMR).
