<p><span>Confers with managers and supervisors performing more complex construction projects, assists Senior Resident Engineer on highly complex construction projects. Work involves engineering analysis, highway or structures design, traffic engineering, maintenance, construction, or traffic engineering, which includes supervision of administrative units or function; OR acts as one of a small number of technical staff experts engaged in professional engineering consultative work requiring possession of special knowledge and application of engineering practices, and representing the agency before the public and other agencies, consultants, and contractors.</span></p>

<span>Job Duties:</span>
</div>

<p><span>Provide engineering and technical direction for the administration of more complex construction projects or assists senior residents on multiple highly complex construction contracts, (design, construction, and maintenance of transportation projects), ensures work is performed that provides a functional, durable project that meets design intent at a reasonable cost.</span></p>
<p><span>Assist senior resident engineer with input on project scope, designs and development. Initiate procedures, monitoring project processes for contractor payment, quantity documentation (Davis development meetings and other meetings related to the ADOT state highway system) labor compliance, training requirements, and affirmative action.<br/><br/>Provides administrative management duties including personnel management, EPAS, discipline, hiring authority, and other administrative duties as required. Coordinate construction activities with federal, state, local and private entities to assure conflicts are minimized. Initiate communication with all affected stakeholders on matters that affect them. <br/><br/>Provides leadership, coaching and supervision of subordinate personnel, assure compliance with all applicable plans, specifications, rules, requirements, and related contracted documents. May operate a State vehicle in the course and scope of conducting State business. Initiate and monitor training of subordinate personnel.</span></p>

<li><span>Principles and practices of civil engineering as applied to design, development, construction and maintenance of the state highway system.</span></li>
<li><span>Federal and State statutes, agency standards, regulations, policies and procedures pertaining to area of assignment.</span></li>
<li><span>Safety practices and public relations practices; methods, procedures and techniques utilized in management of assigned resources.</span></li>
</ul>

<li><span>Work management and leadership; interpreting and analyzing a wide range of highly technical engineering data.</span></li>
