Position Summary

The Maintenance Technician will utilise their technical skills in supporting the manufacture of medical device products by completing PM tasks and dealing with breakdowns within their area of responsibility.

Principal Responsibilities

Key responsibilities will include (but are not limited) to the following;
•    Ensure Quality and EHS policies and procedures are adhered to always
•    Work closely with Maintenance Supervisor to plan and complete Preventative Maintenance tasks
•    Ensure where applicable, that downtime and process issues are dealt with in an effective manner
•    Demonstrate an attitude of knowledge sharing within the group with respect to equipment and processes 
•    Work with the wider group in identifying opportunities for yield and cost saving improvements 
•    Support CIP project activities 
•    Updating procedures / docs in line with DCR changes etc
•    Maintaining a clean and efficient work area (6S)
•    Ensure full compliance with regulatory requirements

Education / Experience Requirements

•    A high degree of computer literacy
•    Engineering or relevant manufacturing qualification to Diploma level 
•    Ability to work in a fluid, demanding environment
•    Understanding and appreciation of Teleflex ethics standards
•    Thorough understanding of Teleflex processes and products
•    Knowledge and experience of working in the medical devices industry
•    Problem solving skills
•    Ability to multi-task in a very dynamic environment
•    Self-Starter with the ability to work independently with a minimum of supervision and with drive and enthusiasm for quality and yield improvements.
•    Proven record for taken responsibility for meeting timelines. 
•    Ability to work as part of an effective team
•    Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
•    Experience trouble shooting electrical and mechanical facilities and manufacturing equipment.
•    Experience interpreting drawings – CAD, Electrical, Mechanical 
•    Experience working with internal and external customers – Value streams, Engineers, outside contractors OEM, organising contractors to carry out planned and unplanned maintenance. 
•    Ability to work on multiple projects between different departments.
•    Experience of industrial, mechanical, and electrical safety standards.
•    Experience of BMS systems
•    Experience of CMMS systems
