The technology that powers Mainspring’s Linear Generator is unlike any other generator technology on the market. The Linear Generator relies on innovative electrical power and control hardware systems to achieve its best-in-class efficiency while meeting the world’s strictest emissions requirements. These electrical hardware systems are designed by a talented team of electrical engineers that own hardware design from initial concept through test and manufacturing.
We have a highly impactful opportunity for an electrical engineer to be part of the team that is responsible for the Linear Generator’s power delivery and integration into customers’ power systems.

Job Overview

We have a highly impactful opportunity for an electrical engineer to be part of the team that is responsible for the Linear Generator’s power delivery and integration into customers’ power systems.
Responsibilities
- Drive the integration of inverters into broader power systems, with familiarity across diverse system architectures
- Lead the troubleshooting and root cause analysis of complex hardware issues arising in the field, lab, or during testing of grid forming and following inverters and AC power systems
- Design the critical electrical systems that enable key functions and ever-expanding features of the Linear Generator
- Become an expert on the power hardware subsystems that you own from concept to deployment in both AC and DC microgrid applications
- Develop and execute comprehensive testing plans for inverters, microgrid systems, and integrated power subsystems, ensuring robust performance and compliance with design specification
- Perform critical design reviews and collaborate cross-functionally with mechanical, thermal, controls, and software engineers to ensure holistic system performance and manufacturability
Qualifications
- Bachelor's or Master's degree in Electrical Engineering or a related field.
- 6+ years of hands-on experience in the design, development, and testing of high-voltage power systems, specifically grid-tie inverters or similar AC power systems
- A “collaborate-first” mindset and ability to communicate across a range of disciplines and personalities
- Deep expertise in AC circuit analysis, waveform interpretation, and power quality diagnostics for 50/60hz systems, including identifying harmonics, transients, and other anomalies.
- Hands-on experience using an oscilloscope, multimeter and other test instruments to measure electrical parameters such as voltage, current, frequency
- Lab safety training to work on 400 to 800VAC and 1
